We were met by Helen, Camley Street’s Education Officer, who gave us an introduction (after an essential cup of tea!) and insight into the history of the park and then lead us on a lovely tour around the reserve.

Nestled between the churning regeneration works in King’s Cross and the Regents Canal Camley Street Nature Park is an oasis of wild greenery – proudly home to some rare bird and plant species.

We wandered at a leisurley pace around several ponds surrounded by fluffy bullrushes and whistling reeds, whilst ducks paddled on the surface and the tweets of the birds miraculoulsy drowned out the industrial cranes in the background.

It was a lovely afternoon and felt like a little holiday out of the city. Join us next time for your escape!
