On Tuesday we enjoyed only a sprinkling of rain between the sunshine over a lovely afternoon ‘Public Wisdom’ picnic from Cubitt Gallery on Islington Green in partnership with us at Age UK Islington and Angel AIM, with kind support from the Business Design Centre.

Paper chains were looped, banjos played, delicious sandwiches and salads munched and a dance performance boogied on the Green! Local people over 55 met new neighbours, made new friends and had a great time.

Public Wisdom is Cubitt’s programme to make Angel a more ‘Age-Friendly Town Centre’ – so is inviting local people to feed back their ideas. You can read more about the project here.

Join us next time!

mildmay gentle exercise 1

mildmay gentle exercise 3

This week we popped in to Mildmay Park sheltered accomodation to get stretching, singing and dancing. With our tutor Cathrine (who teaches regularly over at Drovers Centre) the group were soon singing along to classic songs and waving their colourful ribbons with joy.

With a mixture of some simple stretches and movements we enjoyed a gentle but definite workout, before hitting the dancefloor and throwing some shapes!

Thanks to Marian, Activities Officer from Mildmay Park, and to our tutor Cathrine for her time and energy. It was a lovely afternoon.
